Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsOkay, I admit it… I’m a Harry Potter fan; I’ve enjoyed the series ever since I heard the first audio book in a friend’s car one day and asked for a copy.  I’ve just finished reading the latest book this evening, and I am quite pleased with how Rowling has decided to end the tale of The Boy Who Lived.

No, I won’t post any spoilers here, because I would like to be able to live long enough to deploy to Iraq.  I will however, say that the book is very good and is a fitting end to the story.  The tale of Harry Potter, in my opinion, is more than a children’s story; it may have started out as one, but Rowling has nursed it into one which transcends the generations.

In this, the final chapter of the saga, people do die — characters who have been around since the beginning (and not just human characters…) as well as those who were introduced later in the series.  As for whether or not Harry Potter dies, all I will say is that Voldemort uses avada kedavra against him.  Draw your own conclusions or read the book.
