Horrible parenting

I’ve just read a post on A Soldier’s Perspective which deeply disturbed me.

Private First Class Joshua Sparling was wounded while serving in Iraq, and is presently recovering from his injuries at Walter Reed. On his wall is attached a single card from a kid. This card is what disturbs me so.

It reads:

Dear, Soldier,

Have a great time in the war and have a great time dieing in the war.

From, Solider Miguel

P.S. DIE

Now, I’m not sure if this card was part of a class project or what, but how can parents possibly raise their kids to be so hateful? If this was a class project, then why didn’t the teacher check the cards before they were sent?

This is simply disgusting… but we can do something about it. Write to PFC Sparling and let him know that people care about him.
